I'm not sure about the navigation across the top of the page. Consider that more and more users are moving to wider screens. If the navigation was moved to the left hand menu, maybe using r.a.d.panelbar, it would allow more of the forms to be visible above the 'page fold'. The other benefit for us is greater scope to adding our own functions within the navigation.

Don't forget complete tech novices will be using this system as well.

The navigation at the top is user friendly. There is already a left nav for most of the pages already EG, Pages already has a left nav.

I do agree you are using too much realestate. Get rid of the logo/space at the top.

First of all, thank you for your suggestion. Originally, we were thinking along the same lines but later we found that ineffective. We had many internal discussions and based mainly on Sitefinity users' feedback, we made the decision in favor of top navigation. Our idea now is to use the left column for subnavigation only because when it becomes too large, there won't be enough space to put the main navigation in. Moreover, it won't be as tidy as having the main nav at the top. As for the waste of space beacuse of the logo, we will be offering more compact skins in later versions to choose from.

    All the best,
