    I've noticed that if I'm not careful with confining the scope of my CSS selectors then it causes a side effect of messing up the layout of the Sitefinity top toolbar editing a page.

    The label and select elements are particularly problematic. For a simple example, add the following to a stylesheet referenced by a content page:

    label { font-weightbold; }

    The increase in horizontal width required for the now bolded label called "Template" in the top toolbar causes the associated dropdown to be rendered below it rather than to the right.

    Hi Gary,

    you are right about the fact that your selectors should be more specific. Here is a KB explaining the Page Editor and possible layout glitches:

    which you can read to get a better understanding of how this works.

    I hope you'll find this information helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Best wishes,
