    We developed website on

Our site structure is something like < staging url>/WebSites/<sitename>/home.aspx

Now we tested the website and all ready, we need to change the dns setting, but once that is changed site would be accessible as  <Domain name>//WebSites/<sitename>/home.aspx
But we want that to be accessible from <domain name>.

We dont want 'websites/<sitename> to be coming in the url. we dont want to be doing redirection as well.

Please suggest what should we be doing.

I asked to make the <sitename> folder as root directory but they suggested that would not be possible.

    Please help.

    Hello Pankaj,

When you purchase your domain and point to your web site, the domain will point to the root directory of your site. This means that if you have /Websites/ directory in your current directory structure, and the site is actually located there, you should move all web sites files to the root directory. By root directory I don't mean the IIS root, but the root the hosting gave you.

    I hope this helps.
