Hi all - I'm curious to hear others' experience when using a remote SQL Server. Here's the situation:

During development, I'm using a SQL Express database on the same server as the Sitefinity web server and the performance is great. For production, I'm moving the database to another standalone SQL Server and performance stinks. The database server is in our domain and the web server is in the DMZ.

My network guys have analyzed packets and traffic and it does not appear to be a firewall specific issue. I have also tried the database on a second server with similar results.

Anyone have similar experiences? Am I just expecting too much from a SQL Server outside the DMZ?

    Hello Michael Buchsbaum,

It looks like there is some delay between request and response from the project and SQL server. You could also use Fiddler and  SQL Profiler to narrow down this issue.
