    Hi Guys,

Just getting started with sitefinity and really happy so far.

We are using the search service and would like to have a SearchBox control look, positioned and function exactly like what you have on the Telerik website main page (ie: appended to the right of the menu).

Right now, we have a div (and content placeholder) for the menu, and another div (and cph) for where the searchbox would go.  I'm assuming that we cannot add a searchbox control to it?

If you could provide instructions for accomplishing this task that would be great.

    Hello Jeff,

This can be implemented entirely editing control templates and the css styles.
You can adjust SiteMenu control and SearchBox control. The SiteMenu uses the RadMenu control and is located in ~[your site]/Sitefinity/UserControls/Navigation35/SiteMenu.ascx.
The SearchBox control have template where you can adjust the appearance. It is located in ~[your site]/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Search/SearchBox.ascx.

You can add the SearchBox and SiteMenu to every content place holder of the master page.
One solution is adding the SearchBox directly in the ~[your site]/Sitefinity/UserControls/Navigation35/SiteMenu.ascx. Then the SiteMenu will always include the SearchBox control. You need to customize the appearance with css.

I attached an example how to add SearchBox to the SiteMenu template and an example of using image button in the SearchBox.

I hope this information will help you.

    All the best,
    the Telerik team
