I am building a news and events hub site for our school where I want to have separate sections for each department that only display news related to that department.
I added an "Outlets" metafield to news and events which allows me to type in comma separated outlet names.
    i.e. SoeWeb, Insider, MeritWeb
For news views, I can add to the filter.
    AND Outlets LIKE ("%MeritWeb%")
That works great to develop news pages within the site oriented to specific departments.

(I can't locate the post again, but came up with solution from a similar request for multiple categories etc.)

I would also like to have matching rss feeds to this type of news view, so I can list news items on that department's website which will send them back to department specific page on the main news hub.

There will also be a main news page covering all departments that will leverage the same news content, but with the broader scope.

What is the best way to add this extra level of filtering to the news and events RSS feeds?

    Hello Scott Rozman,

The RssFeed control does not support filtering itself. You need to create a Rss provider where you filter the feeds and later use them on the website. So you will have NewsView content items filtered by a parameter which should be a metakey and you have to create a feed that is filtered by the same parameter. By design News RssFeed supports filtering by category, so you can fitler your control by category (Category = "test")
