I am customizing a News Item. In the NewsItemNew.ascx file I would like to have multiple Category drop down lists.  In each one, I would like to have only the subcategories show up, instead of all.  For example, if I had the following categories in the Category library

    Bob Smith
    John Smith

How do I get the Category drop down to only show the subcategories of one of the main categories.  So for example, only show the Authors?

    Hi Stephen,

You need to crate a new metakey ( User Manual , page 214 - Adding Custom Fields) for each category you want to add. Then you need to use control that implements ITextControl interface and bind the categories to it. You can specify the level from which the binding will start by using GetCategoriesTree method of ContentManager class. You could also take a look at
