CategoriesManagement template won't load

    I'm running SiteFinity 3.6 and have created a custom module that needs to include categories.

    I used the instructions/example from the following location

    but when I click on the link in my CommandPanel the page that I'm on just refreshes... I don't see the CategoriesManagement page.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Engwar,

    Sitefinity version 3.6 uses a different implementation that can be found at

    In the new architecture you should create a ControlPanel for your module and add views by overriding CreateViews().


    protected override void CreateViews() 
                AddView<ProductsCategoriesView>("ProductsCategoriesView""CategoriesView_Title""CategoriesView_Description""all", Messages.ResourceManager); 

    Then newly create view should inherit from CategoriesView which provides interface for managing categories for Generic Content based modules. Afterwards you should get the type from the assembly containing the embedded resources.

    After successful implementation of the module you need to Drag and Drop CategoriesList control on your page and set ProductsCatID for CategoryKey( Behavior section). Then, under Data category you should specify Products' module provider name "Products".
