Changing Metafield data type for items already in the DB

    in Sitefinity 3.7 latest version I'm having the same problem described in this thread:
    After changing the type of the "Libraries.Description" metakey from ShortText to LongText I get the error about the 250 chars limit. But I really need to update the previously uploaded items to support the longer description as I cannot reupload them all. What do I need to change in the database to convert the existing items from the old setting to the new setting? I tried moving the old descriptions in the sf_GCMetadata table from the ShortText column to the LongText column (setting the ShortText to null) but I still get the error.

    Hello Alessio,

    Open [sf_GCMetaData] and update the ValueType for all entries which uses your custom  metakeys that you changed. As far as I remember "1" is for LongText.
