Configuration Error

    After installing on Windows Server 2003 SP2 , when trying to edit a project or even browsing a new project I get the following error:

    Configuration Error

    Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

    Parser Error Message: Child nodes not allowed.

    I'm getting the same error. Same Windows 2k3 sp 2. .Net 2.0 is set on the site.

    Unfortionately I can't follow suggested link to Child Nodes Not Allowed discussion here. Any suggestions?

    Hi David,

    I am still not sure what exactly is causing this. I have found one more interesting resource about this issue - http://forums.asp.net/t/1186941.aspx

    Basically, there are two suggestions there - to remove the <providerOption option from the web.config file, or to install hotfixes for the .NET framework. Please, let me know if this worked for you.
