    Hi there,

I am wondering how can I override the default behavior of sitefinity modules such as the creation of News items. What I want exactly is to add couple of checkboxes inside the NewsItemNew.ascx template which is easy. Now what I want to do is to do a special behavior once the user decides to save the news item. So I want to save the news item but at the same time i want to call a specific function once one of these checkboxes i added is checked.

    Appreciate your help in advance.

    Sitefinity rocks !

    Hi G-force,

You can create a custom view that inherits from NewsItemNew/NewsItemEdit or ContentItemNew/ContenItemEdit and override SaveContent() method. Then, before calling the base execute your custom logic.

The above could be done in completely new module and in an existing module by replacing the view.

    Kind regards,
