    Hi there

    How to add special effects to news Summary field(TEXT FIELD)  i.e(adding bold, italics, underline etc.,)

    For example
    In my attachment, I want to add some special effects to pharse(800 METRE) (means needs to display in bold).
    How do we implement such effetcs . I understand that this text is taking from text box.

    Thanks for your support asusual in advance

    Hello syed,

    Thank you for using our services.

    Since the Summary field in news is a metafield you can replace the textbox, in the control templates for creating and editing news items, with a RadEditor styled to look as textbox having only a few tools that you need to use. For example you can replace the Summary textbox in ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/News/NewsItemNew.ascx and ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/News/NewsItemEdit.ascx with the follwong:

    <telerik:RadEditor ID="Summary"
            EditModes="All" runat="server" ToolbarMode="ShowOnFocus"
                <telerik:EditorCssFile Value="~/Sitefinity/Admin/Themes/Default/AjaxControlsSkins/Sitefinity/EditorCssFile.css" />
    <p class="example">

    You should then map those two templates. Attached is the editor tools file which this editor uses.

    Sincerely yours,
