    Is there a way I can setup a content place holder in my template to be a location for Flash files to be displayed. Then allow the content authors to upload new versions of the flash file and have the flash change? I want to allow the content authors as much flexibility to change the images and flash on the site. Instead of imbedding images in my templates, I have put ContentPlaceHolder controls on the template and allowed them to pick from images in teh library to put on the page to ensure that they can change them as they see fit. I would like to do the same for Flash files.

    Hello Armysniper,

    I think this is possible. For instance you could create a user control that has selector which grabs data from your libraries or file directories. After you have drop the control on the place holder a user will be able to edit the control and set the properties - selecting images, flash etc.

    Example:

    control template.

    <asp:Image ID="image1" runat="server" Visible="true" />

    code behind.

        // file manager selector.
        [WebEditor("Telerik.FileManager.UrlWebEditor, Telerik.FileManager")]
        public virtual string SelectFile
        {
            get
            {
                return image1.ImageUrl;
            }
            set
            {

                this.image1.ImageUrl = value;
            }
        }

    More information about selectors could be found at http://blogs.sitefinity.com/IvanDimitrov/IvanPosts.aspx

    Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.
