    Hi All

    I have been looking for a way to move documents between libraries I came accross this tool Replacement Tool.

    I followed the instructions on the blog post but unfortunatly I receive the following error:

    Object Reference not set to an instance

    Line 18:         this.userName.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl(Telerik.Security.UserManager.GetCurrentUserName()));
    Line 19:         this.projectName.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl(Telerik.Cms.Web.UrlHelper.GetProjectName()));
    Line 20:         this.MainMenu.DataBind();
    Line 21:     }
    Line 22:
    Source : c:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.5 Community\WebSites\PangaeaEbusiness\Sitefinity\Admin\Admin.master.cs

    I had to make a modification whilst following the steps

    1) I had to convert the class file from c# to vb.net

    I was wondering if it would be possible to either:

    Fix the error above to get this tool up and running

    OR

    see some sample code of how to achieve the aim (moving documents from one library to another)

    Thanks in advance

    Daniel

    Hello Daniel,

    I do not see how the ReplaceTool will cause this - looking at the error, it is happening in Admin.master.cs. Did you make any other modifications? By the way, the ReplaceTool will work even if your solution is using VB.Net - it is not necessary to convert it.

    As for the moving the items between libraries, we will have this implemented as a standard feature in the next service release which is coming in about two weeks.

    All the best,

    I couldn't understand it either!

    Oh well I will wait for the service release!

    My only concern is, is that I am using 3.5 is the service release going to be compatible with 3.5 or will I need to upgrade to 3.6?

    Thanks

    Daniel

    Hello Daniel,

    It will be a standard upgrade. You can upgrade directly to it from version 3.5.
