Hi Guys, another question for you!

This question regards the format stripping feature of the RadEditor.

My problem is that the "strip word formatting" feature does not strip enough of the bulk from the resulting code.

to get the code ideally where i want it to be (in terms of cutting out bulk), i have to perform a series of "strip..." commands.

I have code which will do what i want in one clean sweep. Thus i am wondering if it is possible to change the functionality of the RadEditor slightly?

I wish to change the "strip formatting" button so that it is no longer a drop down menu, and so that a single click will make a call to the javascript function i have (assuming it uses javascript to provide it's functionality!).

Which files should i edit to achieve the above?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Nick,

To achieve the desired functionality you need to add the FormatStrip functionality as a new tool in the editor. For more information please refer to the following article: Custom Tools.

The RadEditor control in Sitefinity is declared in the ControlPanelInsert.ascx and ControlPanelEdit.ascx control templates located in \[YourProject]\Sitefinity\Admin\ControlTemplates\[ModuleName]. If you open these files, you will notice that we already use some custom RadEditor tools and dialogs (for example InsertLink dialog).

Also, could you provide us with a sample .doc file containing the text (with the formatting) that you want to paste in the editor? This will help us to resolve potential issues with the existing "Strip Word Formatting" option.

    All the best,
