i was just wondering , the sitefinity forum i am using does not create friendly URL's , and there are too many LInk Buttons Postback on each forum action, but here on this site the forum works just fine, friendly URL's of each page within forum.

    Hi Muhammad Saqib,

If you use Forums control and there is no value for EditPostPage, AllForumsPage, SingleForumsPage, SingleThreadPage the url is the same - domain.com/forumspage.aspx and it is not even rewriten. When you submit a data to the server on button click it is normal that you have a post back and the code is executed on the server.

I  have a Forum page (forum.aspx) and i have set all these properties to ~/Forums.aspx

whan i click on any of my forum link the url becomes

    /Forum.aspx?mode=singleForum&forum=e92b346a-e4ff-4fdb-af5e-6a573b3b61b3

same is for post , like:

    /Forum.aspx?mode=singleThread&thread=c1f61a65-b54f-4a60-a89f-cac2cf0bec4c

But i want the behaviour like sitefinity forum, like in when i click on general discussion forum link becomes:

    http://www.sitefinity.com/support/forums/sitefinity-3-x/general-discussions.aspx

    and on Any post:

    http://www.sitefinity.com/support/forums/sitefinity-3-x/general-discussions/sitefinity-v-3-7-sp2-is-available-for-download.aspx

I hope  you got my point!

    Hi Muhammad Saqib,

You have the parent ID on the page Url because you have set SingleForumsPage url property as described in the previous post. So, the parent ID is added as a QueryString in the url. The Forums module implementation expects the ParentID in the url because we use this guid internally and without it the module will not work. The forums on Sitefinity.com uses completely different implementation.

However we will change the forums module behavior from Sitefinity 4.0 and we will use the name of the articles in the url, currently this is not possible.

    All the best,
