    We are currently using the TabStrip for the main menu in our site.  The problem we can not seem to get past is that when the user clicks on a link (the 'Support' tab for example), the little hand cursor does not show up when hovering over that link again.  This has caused confusion for our testers and we need to figure out where this gets set.

    I noticed that there were settings in RadControls/Tabstrip/Scripts/3_6_1/tabstrip.css that referenced a selected property "tabstrip li a.selected" that sets the cursor type, but I have tried modifying these settings and commenting them out with no results.

    Could I get some direction on how to enable the "hand" cursor on mouse-over?

    Thanks

    I have modified the code behind for this control and commented out the item.selected line.  This takes care of the Pointer Cursor showing up.

    I know this would not look correct if I was actually using a skin that looked like tabs.  We're not, but I'm wondering if this is bad practice, and if there is a better way to do this without having to modify the control?

    Thanks,

    If your asking what I think your asking then you should be able to set the ClickSelectedTab property to true. This is done in the markup of your tab strip as in the example below. (unless there is a property available to you in edit mode...it would probably called the same thing) I took a look at our skin css and didn't see the "cursor: pointer;" anywhere, so hopefully this does the trick for you.

    <radTS:RadTabStrip ID="RadTabStrip1" runat="server" ClickSelectedTab="true" SkinsPath="~/App_Themes/alighten" Skin="mainMenu" CausesValidation="false">
    </radTS:RadTabStrip>

    Let me know if that isn't what you meant.

    Sincerely,

    Ben

    When I set the property ClickSelectedTab=true it does let me click on the selected tab but the cursor does not change for that tab, it remains my windows default pointer cursor.  I want the cursor to change to the "hand" cursor that is the browser default for links.

    The css I was referring to is not in the skin, it is in the following location: RadControls/Tabstrip/Scripts/3_6_1/tabstrip.css

    Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated!

    You are correct...my bad.

    OK if you don't select a skin than the tabstrip automatically chooses the default skin in the RadControls folder so you can modify it to give you the desired effect.

    RadTabStrip_Office2007 li a.selected .innerWrap
    {
        background: url('images/tabMiddleOn.gif') right top no-repeat;
        cursor:pointer;
        /* IE 5 Win */
        _cursor:hand;
    }

    Where Office2007 is the name of your Skin which in the case of using the Default skin would be Default.

    I found this here (google"clickselectedtab cursor site:telerik.com" for more options):

    http://www.telerik.com/community/forums/thread/b311D-kcgae.aspx

    It is a little out dated so the format for your class/skin/element might be a little different, but hopefully this is a good starting point.

    Sincerely,

    Ben
