Ok, I built and compiled a Control and used the "Upload Control as a DLL" feature.  It worked and I can see that the "web.config" file was altered.

However, the "section" property was left blank.  Also, it added "web.config" references to private classes contained within my DLL.

    Two questions:

How do I specify the "section" within my DLL?

How do I prevent Sitefinity from adding "web.config" references to my private classes?

    Hi Gabe,

    1. If you want to set a specific section name for your .dll, open AssemblyInfo.cs file, located in Properties folder of your project and change the value of AssemblyCompany attribute. For example:

    [assembly: AssemblyCompany("My section name")]

    2. The workaround to remove references to the private classes in your .dll is to open web.config and delete the line adding the corresponding private class.

    Hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
    the Telerik team
