I created a new user control that I am using for the EventScheduleView control. The user control has a RadAjaxManagerProxy control on it that has the Ajaxsetting AjaxControlID set to an asp panel and the AjaxUpdateControl with the ControlID set to the same panel. Inside the panel is a RadCalendar and a RadScheduler control. The master page has the RadScriptManager and RadAjaxManager controls in it.

The RadCalendar has it's special days set by the RadScheduler appointments. Then there is a Sever-Side event handler setup for the DefaultViewChanged event for the calendar. The idea is that when the DefaultViewChanged event is fired, the RadScheduler's view will be update by showing the new view from the calendar and then the RadCalendar's special days are updated accordingly. The functionality is similar to the Outlook example for the RadScheduler except instead of SelectionChanged updating the RadScheduler, the DeaultViewChanged is doing it.

The problem is, that the RadCalendar is always doing a full postback. If I try to change the RadScheduler's view on first page load, it will also do a full-postback. But from them on, it will use an ajax post. The RadCalendar however always does a full postback.

I have removed the RadAjaxManagerProxy and replaced the asp Panel with an asp UpdatPanel and the RadCalendar will function correclty. I was really hoping to use the Telerik products.

    Hello Richard,

Please refer to the following KB article: RadAjaxManager initialized too late in the page life cycle
If it does not help to solve the problem, send us all necessary files (your user control and master page) to test the issue locally.

Do let us know how it goes.

    Best wishes,
    the Telerik team
