    Hey Guys,

How can we create search indexes and start the indexing programmatically using the API?

    Thanks,
    Chris

You can define your own index providers to allow you to index custom modules or other external content. I have a blog on this subject here:

    http://www.selarom.net/blog/2009-01-23/Sitefinity_Index_and_Search_Events.aspx

Additionally, the IndexingManager class (http://www.sitefinity.com/help/developer-manual/telerik.search-telerik.search.engine.indexingmanager.html) has some StartIndexing methods you might be able to hook into if you want to execute indexing programmatically...

    http://www.sitefinity.com/help/developer-manual/telerik.search-telerik.search.engine.indexingmanager-startindexing.html

I haven't used it however, so I don't have a specific example but I hope this points you in the right direction until one of the sitefinity devs can come in here with an example!
