    I have downloaded and run the self install exe for version 3.5 SP1 to install it on localhost for development.

    I opened the sitefinity application from All Programs/Telerik/sitefinity3.5 and then selected to create a project with the TIUsite example.

    It seemed to spend a few minutes doing its thing to create the site and now I see that example in the project list.

    I try to 'browse' it and I get an error:
    Server Error in '/telerik/TIUSite_v3.5_SP1' Application
    Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding
    and then the stack trace (see below).

    I checked IIS is running - it is, and is installed, and working on other sites on localhost.

    I can see the Telerik site in the default website in IIS, with sitefinity and the TIUsite as subsites

    I was not asked for any info about the database but I do have sql server 2005 express running for other development sites.  I can't however see a telerik database in SQL Server Management Studio in the list of existing databases.

    I am running under windows xp sp2

    Please help!

    Hi Clive Hoggar,

    Please take a look at the following link - TipsStation, where these problems are described. It is a server side issue. You may need to adjust the timeout for the connection in your connection string as the example below demonstrates:

        <add name="Sitefinity" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Sitefinity.mdf;Connect Timeout=30"
          providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

    Make sure that ASPNET account has read and write permissions over ~/App_Data folder. Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

    Best wishes,
