    I am new to Sitefinity.

I attempted to use a Rad Control in a custom control, now my site has an error:

Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Web.UI, Version=2008.3.1314.35, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=121fae78165ba3d4' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

I look in the web.config file to update RadControls according to the User Manual for 3.5.  However the sitefinity I am using is 3.6.  I was unable to find the Telerik.Web.UI assembly binding.

Is there a new User Manual for 3.6?

How do I update the Rad Controls in sitefinity to use the latest release?

    Thanks for any help
    David

    Hello David,

You can upgrade( or download) your project to Sitefinity SP1 which contains RadControls Q1. Using binding redirect is not a good option when you want to use different version of the shipped assembled, because we build with certain version of Telerik.Web.UI and some of the public controls may not work properly.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks Ivan,

I think I got the patch working on my local server at least.  I am uploading the updates to my live blog now, then I will attempt to make cool control.

The Web.config file was a pain to compare.  I ended up just looking through the new config file for the sql connection string, set the project name, and set Role Manager enabled to true.

    Thanks Again,
    David
