I am working with custom Tools in my own DLL but I have come across an annoying issue.

I am unable to stop sitefinity from loading my designer classes into the toolbox.... I have tried setting a couple things in the code however sitefinity seems to find my designers and load them into the toolbox as if they were regular controls.. This is quite annoying and seems like it will confuse some people when the time comes for me to deploy my dll for others to use on their site...

Is there any way to stop sitefinity from loading specific classes into the webconfig. therefore stopping them from entering the toolbox ?

If not then there should be some attribute or something for the coder to stop sitefinity from toolboxing specific classes. or just limit the ControlDesigner from loading into the toolbox.... an attribute would be best. so a coder could stop a class in partial development from displaying...... or some other reason. Like debug versions of classes or something..... and [Browsable(false)] does not seem to work on classes

    Hello Volure,

Thank you for submitting your question and issue.

Please open the web.config file, and scroll to the <toolboxControls> section. You should see the controls, and in this case the designer classes in that collection. Remove the desired one from there.

In 4.0 this will be changed.

    All the best,

I was thinking more along the lines of it not being added to the web config file rather then me having to remove it manually. That kinda defeats the purpose

    Hello Volure,

I agree. This is the only workaround that I can give you though.
