We're having some trouble setting up viddler for our SiteFinity website.

I've followed the intsructions to the letter, documented here: http://www.sitefinity.com/support/kb/sitefinity-3-x/how-to-set-up-viddler.aspx

When I enter my username password - it saves.
However when I click "Synchronize" i get the big red "Incorrect password.

I tried entering a bogus username - it tells me "Incorrect username"

if I change the API Key it tells me "Incorrect API Key".

The password i'm using is the same one I've set up on Viddler, with the exact same API #.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks.

    Hi Ryan Ternier,

The problem is in your API key or you have entered incorrect password or username. We call AuthenticateUser(username, password); to get the user's private list. If this fails we thrown error 404. I checked the provider using my credentials and everything worked without problems at my end.

    Sincerely yours,

    Thanks for the reply Ivan.

We are using the same UserName/Password we use to sign into our user account in Viddler. Should we be using a seperate one?

Also, in the first post of mine, are those all the steps one is to follow? I've seen a few different ways to implement viddler, so I want to make sure that guide is rock solid.

    Thanks.

    Hello Ryan Ternier,

You should use the same username and password that you use to access your viddler account. I checked the code and there could be a problem only if you are working in Medium Trust level because WebRequest is called.

Viddler logged into their session with our credentials and it worked fine on their end. Same API key, same username and same password we're using.

I won't post the screen shot of it because of the puplic nature of these forums, but the credentials we are using are correct.

    Hello Ryan Ternier,

Open a support request and provide us with the credentials and API key you use for viddler, so we could see from where the problem comes from.

Ticket is open, however my user account is not linked to my company (who purchased sitefinity), so hopefully I'll get a response soon.

Passwords CANNOT have special characters in them.

    SiteFinity did not want a password with a # $ @ ! in it.
