we use Sitefinity Community Edition to build our new web page. Since yesterday everything was fine, but suddenly everything becomes very strange.

The last I can remember that I added a UserControl. The next thing that happened is that each Control in edit mode gives me an error:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I cant drag an drop any controls anymore and I cant edit them.

    I tried everything:
    - Setup a  complete new page at the existing site without and with a new database.
    - Restart the server
    - Use custom template and default template.

It does not work I just get this exception.

It was also confusing that I got an error:
There is a duplicate 'system.web.extensions/scripting/scriptResourceHandler' section defined when I install Sitefinity with Platform Installer.

    I have no more ideas.

    Hi Sebastian,

Try removing the control you have added from the problematic page or just comment the web.config line inside toolboxControls used for registering the toolbox item.

ScriptResourceHandler - handler for processing requests for script files that are embedded as resources in an assembly. Try deleting or comment out all the system.web.extensions configuration section definitions and configuration section group definitions from the web.config file. Make sure that the website is not build against .NET Framework 4.0 and the application pool is running under.NET Framework 3.5 or 2.0
