Hello my name is Angel Arce, I'm currently evaluating SiteFinity CMS for a website my organization is planning to launch, the intention of purchasing a full license before launching the website.

I'm trying to create an article section in which I would like to have the articles listed in descending order, and only showing the first 100 words of the article with a link to the full article, but I don't see a clear way to do this.

Can you please assist me in solving this issue?

    Thank you.

    Hi Angel Arce,

You can use the News Module for creating the articles and the News View control for showing them.
The News View control supports filtering and ordering(Advanced Options Tab). You need to do is adding the limitation of the Summary words. Here is a simple way to do that (assuming you are using Sitefinity 3.6):
    1. Map the News Module to use external templates, here you can find out how.
    2. Open ~\Sitefinity\Admin\ControlTemplates\News\NewViewControlDesigner.ascx
    3. Scroll down to "List & page" mode section:
    <h4 class="selectedTitlePageList">List &amp; page</h4>
    4. Now go to the "For every item in the news list, display:" section.
    5. Beneath the
      <sfDesignSettings:TextSetting ID="TextSettingContent2"
    section add:
                          <sfDesignSettings:ContentSetting id="ContentSetting1"
    6. Reset IIS or recycle the App. pool
Now if everything is fine, on the 3rd step, the Summary Limiter option should appear. (see the screenshot).

    All the best,
