    Hi all,

I was wondering what was the simplest way to add a single text field to the generic content control (in version 3.7)

The end result I would like, is to be able to:

    1. Go to edit a page
    2. Drag a 'customContent' control onto the page (like the existing 'Generic Content' control)
    3. Be able to edit my new text field in the 'advanced' tab of the 'customContent' control.

How would be best for me to proceed?

    Hi Pete McKee,

In the advanced tab you may have only properties which are represented by TextBox controls or DropDown for Boolean type properties. You have to create a custom class that inherits from GenericContent and create a new property that will be used in your custom logic. You also have to create a GenericContentDesigner for the custom control that derives from GenericContent. You may find the following KB article useful How to wrap a Generic Content control in 3.6 SP1.

    Sincerely yours,
