which kinds of authentication are possible in Sitefinity?

We need to integrate it into some other applications and want to use "single sign on".
    Is Windows authentication supported?
Are the ASP.NET 2.0 features in use where an own membership and role provider can be implemented and configured?

    Thanks in advance!
