I am trying to write a desktop app (not asp.net) that will allow me to connect to my local Sitefinity database and perform some automation such as publishing images, pages, albums etc.  I would prefer to use the fluent api instead of the web services api.

Does anyone have any sample code of how to connect the api to the local database and use the fluent api?

    many thanks in advance!

    Robert,

I could be wrong, but I remember seeing that the Sitefinity API is really only useful (meaning, works) inside of a Sitefinity site.

To interact with your database, and the content contained inside, the web services are going to be your best bet.
